There’ll be (improved) traffic police and mounted police in Mazatlan.
Today at the Town Hall, the Major Químico Benítez was given the yes from the councilors so there can be (improved) traffic police and mounted police in Mazatlan, this, he said, as an strategy that will give better security in urban areas as well as in countryside. He added that this also gives the city a good look as a touristic place.
Can’t deny that police on horses looks pretty good, but also they can leave some dirt behind.
He said that there are places where neither a cop car, cop razor nor a cop motorcycle can reach so that’s why we’ll need police riding on horses. Answering questions about it, he said that resources for this new force will be taken from the Town Hall savings.
We might be seeing this new force by next week, when councilors officially approve this.
What do you think about this? Are you excited? Do you think this will give an advantage to the police and they will take better care of people? Or do you think this is not necessary?
We know horses are expensive, so is taking care of them and they might leave some dirt behind, as we said before; but we also know that having mounted police is good for several reasons: crowd control, search and rescue, visibility and others… but maybe for bigger cities.
Anyways, leave us your thought about this and if it happens we hope it is only for good reasons and it can help, at least, someone.
Have a good one everybody!
